Booking the best Havelock rental home experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Boaters Delight! Enjoy your vacation while you dock your boat in this new rental has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
