Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To find the best value, try changing your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking your Havelock vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. BRING YOUR BOAT - ATLANTIC BEACH\/PINE KNOLLS SHORES 4 BR SOUNDFRONT HOME has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Havelock beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
