Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:

  • First, have your family select a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful 3 Bdrm + extra sleeping area & game room less than block to the beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Havelock beach you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
