Strategies to get the perfect Havelock rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Indian Beach. Booking your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the best rental home in the Havelock area:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Fun in the sun only steps from your door! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, call the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
