Getting the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:

  • Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront condo! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If not, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
