How to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing the perfect rental:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanview duplex with pool and hot tub has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
