Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Havelock rental home:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Pebble Beach I-208, Oceanside Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
