Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. Book your Havelock vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to select the best rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Start by having your group commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Dog Friendly Oceanside Home Near Public Beach Ramp at Atlantic Beach, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
