How to find the best Havelock rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Summer is high season in Beaufort. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to pick the perfect rental home in Beaufort:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Sound Side Studio Apartment with Boat Slip! (Bridgeview on Broad) has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. message the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
