Our top Havelock vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the perfectrental:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Barbara's Dream has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
