Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To get the largest rental home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Blue Bowline - Beaufort Convenience, Boat and Pet Friendly! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Havelock attraction you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
