Our top Havelock rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to book a Havelock rental home & When to go:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Cozy Atlantic Beach 4 bed\/2 bath cottage has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
