Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best vacation home in Emerald Isle:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Cross Pointe, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
