Beaufort Historic Site and Core Creek Bridge are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Town Creek Marina and Morehead City Yacht Basin. When to reserve a Havelock rental & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Beaufort. To find the best vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance.   • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective.
