Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:
Get the best value:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. King Suite-Unit 104 - Island Inn Atlantic Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
