Rejuvenate yourself at the premier oceanfront bungalow in Atlantic Beach. Your stay at Sea Haven promises to add many marvelous memories to your vacation scrapbook and keep you wanting to come back year after year!

Sea Haven is a cavernous 6 bedroom oceanfront beach home that is located in one of the best locations on the island. The home lies in a peaceful, calming neighborhood, yet is within walking distance of the Atlantic Beach boardwalk to the west and the fishing pier to the east, so there are a wide variety of activities and eateries close by. The beach in front of the home is relatively peaceful and secluded, and you will often find yourself alone with your thoughts early in the morning. At 3 stories and nearly 4000 square feet, this home is one of the biggest beach homes in the area, and offers tremendous value. The home can sleep a lot of people, so the cost per person is among the best you'll find, making Sea Haven one of the best values on the beach.

The 1st floor is entirely self-sufficient, with a separate entrance, two bedrooms, a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and washer/dryer. This ground level floor is accessible without climbing stairs through the french doors next to the parking area. This “mother-in-law” suite is great for people who can’t climb stairs or those who just want a separate hideaway away from the traffic and kids on the upper two floors. This floor has a “game room” with a professional grade air hockey table and TV. There are interior stairs between the first and second floors, with lockable doors at the top and bottom of the stairs. The main home is on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and is entered through stairs on the parking side of the home, or via the deck stairs on the ocean side (or via the previously mentioned interior stairs from the 1st floor). The 2nd floor has a entryway, full kitchen, dining area, living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a washer/dryer. The 3rd floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, with one of the bedrooms offering a modest breakfast table overlooking the ocean.

1st Floor:
Bedroom #1 has a queen bed and a private bathroom.
Bedroom #2 has a full bed and a private bathroom.
There is a den/game room on this level with a TV as well as an additional dining area, an additional full kitchen, and another washer/dryer. This floor has a private entrance from outside, so it can be used as a entirely independent apartment.

2nd Floor:
Bedroom #3 has a queen bed, a TV, and adjoins a Jack & Jill style bathroom.
This floor has the kitchen, living room, TV, a DVD player, and deck access. You will also find the main dining area and the main kitchen. Off of the kitchen, you will find a convenient full bathroom and washer dryer.
Bedroom #4 is oceanfront, and has a king bed, a TV, and adjoins a Jack & Jill style bathroom.

3rd Floor:
Bedroom #5 is oceanfront, and has two queen beds, a twin bed, a TV, and adjoins a Jack & Jill style bathroom. Note: this bedroom is actually divided into two bedrooms. You first enter the oceanfront bedroom with one queen bed, then go through a second door to the adjoining bedroom with one queen and a twin. We find that many parents with toddlers appreciate this setup, as the toddler room is right next door where moms can keep a close eye on them.
Bedroom #6 is oceanfront, and has two queen beds, 1 twin bed, a TV, and adjoins a Jack & Jill style bathroom. There is also a modest breakfast table overlooking the ocean in this bedroom.

Total linens includes 1 king, 6 queens, 1 full, and 2 twins.

Bathrooms: On the 1st floor, each bedroom has its own bathroom. The main bathroom on the 2nd floor lies off the entryway. A new LG washer and dryer are located here. The other bathroom on this floor is located between the bedrooms for convenient access (Jack & Jill style, with the bathrooms entered through the bedrooms). The 3rd floor bathroom is also located between the bedrooms.

All floors have independent thermostats and central heat/air Trane units to optimize comfort. Flat screen TV's are installed as well.

The deck is exceptionally enormous at over 500 square feet, and has an attached outdoor shower shed (ground water temperature). There is also a covered 400 square foot porch with two sizable picnic tables, which are great for inclement weather or for just getting out of the sun. The view is unmatched...Sea Haven faces due south on an east-west beach, so during certain times of the year, you can appreciate both a sunrise and a sunset from the same location (this is one of the few beach locations in the US where this occurs). From the steps of the deck, the waves at high tide are only about 15 yards away. We have installed a park style grille on the ground level. For safety reasons please only grille on the ground (not on the deck or porch).

Rules: No Smoking. Smoking outside only. Please dispose of your cigarette butts. There will a charge for clean up of cigarette butts and other trash left on the ground.
The chimney is capped to protect the home from rain during hurricanes, so the fireplace is for decoration only and is not to be used. For comfort and to keep sand from blowing onto your bed, please keep windows closed at all times. This also helps prevent salt air corrosion. Windows are to remain closed and locked at all times. Windows found open will result in a $250 service charge. Please help us keep the home nice for the next guest. To keep the home nice for everybody, violations of any home rules or the rental agreement may result in termination of the stay, without refund.

Beach Chairs & Umbrellas: Beach chairs and etc. are not kept at the home anymore, as we had too many left on the beach which disappeared. Taking any home furnishings off of the home property, including deck chairs and cushions, is grounds for termination. However, these items are available for rent at nearly rental businesses: https://www.islandessentials.com
www.babyquip.com/christina250
https://www.beachbutlerrentals.com
Beach Umbrellas: Beach Wheels Bicycle Units, (252) 240-2453, www.beachwheelsbikerentals.com, 9 miles away on 1420 Salter Path Rd, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512. They deliver as well.

Due to the risk of hurricanes, family illness or other factors, renters are highly encouraged to purchase vacation or travel insurance. We cannot make exceptions to our written cancellation policy.

In order to ensure that the home is ready for other guests following your stay, we cannot accommodate wedding, graduation, or spring-break groups (or any other similar "event" or event groups). The home lies in a peaceful residential neighborhood, so events are forbidden. Any event will likely result in a visit from the town police and subsequent eviction. Please be courteous to your neighbors during your stay and you won't have any problems.

If you have any issues that are not resolved satisfactory by contacting the management, please e-mail me. We hope you savor your stay!

Garbage Pickup: please put all garbage cans along the road Sunday nighttime for pickup Monday. There is no specific time, so pickup can occur early or late in the day.
Beginning Memorial Day (the last Monday in May), garbage is picked up twice, on Monday and Thursday. Starting Labor Day, garbage pickup is only once a week on Monday.
Garbage cans must be placed along the road in order to be picked up. Please space them about one foot apart because if they are touching each other, the garbage man can’t get his truck jaws around them. If a can is missing, please let us know...it might be "borrowed" by a close by home guest. The garbage can serial numbers are listed below.
We pay additional for all of these so you don't run out of space.
Garbage Can Numbers (Green):
21001511
21001512
21004472
Recycle Bins (Blue):
21000723
21005239

Linens: sheets, blankets, pillows are included. There are enough bath towels for each bathroom, but you may want to bring more depending on the number of people you have in your group. It is also wise to bring your own pillow if you prefer the one you sleep with every nighttime at home.

Pots & Pans: I don’t have an inventory of the items, but the home is pretty well equipped, and we’ve never had anyone call us and ask for additional items. There are pots, pans, regulator coffee maker, toaster, one crock pot, etc. There may be two of each of these items, as we have two kitchens in the home. Some of the items can be viewed in the kitchen photos. There are No Keurig or pod-type coffee makers.

Lifeguards: There is a lifeguard zone run by the town near the circle during certain times of the year. The lifeguard zone is a short walk west down the beach from the home (about 1,100’). See http://atlanticbeach-nc.com/departments/fire-department/lifeguards/.

Groceries: the nearest full grocery store is Food Lion: (252) 726-9413, about 1.3 miles away at 1010 W Fort Macon Rd, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512.

Urgent Care Location: BeachCare Urgent & Family Medical Center: (252) 808-3696, 7 miles away at 5059 Hwy 70 W, Morehead City, NC 285577 miles away. There are other facilities as well.

The information above may change from time to time, so we encourage you to use Google maps to search for the items you are interested in to get updates to phone numbers, etc. https://www.google.com/maps

Shower valve instructions for the main bathroom on 2nd floor (the one with a washer dryer): Gently pull the lower handle toward you to turn the shower on. Tips to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Havelock trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the best Havelock rental:

  • Choose vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront With 6 Bedrooms, 10 Beds, & Sleeps 16+ has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Havelock attraction you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

More considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
