Rental home booking tips:
When to reserve a Havelock rental & When to go:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Ocean\/Sound View Condo Near Beach with WiFi, Private Deck, & W\/D - Dog-Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you simply love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
