How to get the best Havelock rental home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean/Sound View Condo Near Beach with WiFi, Private Deck, & W/D - Dog-Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
