Havelock rental property booking tips:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Reserve your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:

  • Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Pelican Roost #1: 1 BR, 1 BA Condominium in Atlantic Beach, Sleeps 5 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
