Our top Emerald Isle vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Queens Court 1203, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. - Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
