Tricks and tips to get the very best Havelock rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best rental home in Atlantic Beach:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Redecorated, Oceanfront, Corner Condo with Balcony & Shared Hot Tub/Pools has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
