Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Booking your Havelock vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightvacation home:

  • First, have your family commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sea Worthy is a beautiful Oceanfront-Secluded-home with pool and hot tub has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a particular Havelock beach you long to visit, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
