Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:
When to book a Havelock rental & When to go:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Spacious sound view home. Perfect retreat for families to home school and relax has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Have a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
