Getting the best Beaufort vacation home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Beaufort. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Havelock trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. A Block from the Dock in Historic Beaufort has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Havelock destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
