Tips to get the best Havelock rental experience:

When to visit Beaufort & When to book:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in Beaufort:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. A Block from the Dock in Historic Beaufort has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Havelock beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
