Finding the best vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing the best rental:

  • First, have your group select vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Updated Guest House in Beaufort Historic District--Walkable to Front Street! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Havelock beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
