Emerald Isle rental home booking tips:

Finding the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick the rightrental home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Point Emerald B-305, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Havelock beach you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
