Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your Havelock vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sward Shack: 4 BR, 3.5 BA Townhouse in Atlantic Beach, Sleeps 9 has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a specific Havelock destination you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
