How to book the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sward Shack - Beautiful waterview has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
