Atlantic Beach vacation rental home tips:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation home in Atlantic Beach:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sward Shack - Beautiful waterview has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
