Booking the best Beaufort vacation rental experience:

When to book a Havelock rental home & When to go:

  • Summertime is high season in Beaufort. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your Havelock rental:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Speight House, Soundfront House in Historical Beaufort, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Havelock beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
