Tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking your Havelock rental home:

  • To start, have your group commit to trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Charming condo by the beach with pool, tennis courts has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
