How to find the best Beaufort rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by having your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Keeper's Retreat, Townhouse in Historical Beaufort, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
