Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Havelock vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Liquid Sunshine, direct poolside easy beach access has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
