Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation home experience:
When to book a Havelock rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your Havelock rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking a perfect Havelock rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean Reef 9-B2, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
