Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Choosing the best rental in Atlantic Beach:
- To start, have your group decide on vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. ????Oceanside Complex_Private Beach Access _ Pool_WiFi_Kitchen has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
