Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Emerald Isle rental home experience:
When to book a Havelock rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Pebble Beach D-106, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
