Our top Rental property booking tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by having your family decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Salt & Light, Oceanfront House in Indian Beach, NC! has 9 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Havelock attraction you love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
