Tips to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick a perfectvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sound Of The Sea West 404, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
