Tips for getting the best rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer is high season in the Havelock area. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Spacious 2nd row half duplex in Emerald Isle has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
