Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your Havelock vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 1st Floor Unit With Ocean View, Swimming Pool, Elevators has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
