Booking the best Havelock rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 1st Floor Unit With Ocean View, Swimming Pool, Elevators has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
