Tips and Tricks to get the very best Havelock vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Beaufort. To get the best value, change your family's Havelock trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Finding the perfect rental home in the Havelock area:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Calm Tide -On Ann Street, walking distance to Beaufort waterfront. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
