Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- To find the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose the right Havelock vacation home:
- First, have your family select date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Calm Tide -On Ann Street, walking distance to Beaufort waterfront. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
During your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
