Strategies for getting the perfect Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Hear and See the Sound of the Sea has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Tips for a great stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
