Our top Havelock rental home tips:

Get the best value:

  • To find the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Spacious 1BR 1BA with Full Kitchen and Living Room - 3 min walk to the beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's an individual Havelock attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
