Havelock rental property booking tips:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to select the perfect vacation home:
- Start by having your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious 1BR 1BA with Full Kitchen and Living Room - 3 min walk to the beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
