Our top Beaufort rental home booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect rental home:
- First and foremost, have your family choose the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Temple Cottage - Dog Friendly - Walk to downtown has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
