Strategies to get the perfect Havelock vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- To get the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation home in Beaufort:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Temple Cottage - Walking distance to downtown has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
