Tips for getting the best vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Havelock rental & When to go:
- Book your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 3 Minute walk to the Ocean! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
