How to book the best Emerald Isle rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 4BR duplex close to town and ocean front! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
