Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Havelock vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Havelock vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your prefectrental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 4BR, Pet Friendly, Ocean Front - Unique Style has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
